Blackheath Deli
About This Spot
Stepping into Blackheath Deli is like finding a tucked-away neighbor’s kitchen where time slows just enough to savor quiet moments and a good cup of coffee. Nestled on Govetts Leap Road in the heart of Blackheath, this café offers an inviting blend of warmth and familiar charm — a small refuge where the hum of natural light and soft tunes makes lingering feel natural.
The pace here is unhurried but attentive. Whether you’re sheltering from a brisk morning chill or seeking a midday pause, the atmosphere gently unfolds around you. The staff move through their space with a genuine friendliness that doesn’t feel rehearsed, making guests feel part of a shared routine rather than customers waiting in line. There’s a comforting hum of easy conversation and the occasional clink of cups, setting a relaxed tempo without ever drifting into silence.
On the menu, the offerings speak to both simplicity and care, reflective of the place itself. Each dish carries a subtle hominess — from warming chocolate drinks that feel like a cozy embrace, to sandwiches layered thoughtfully, bringing together familiar flavors with unexpected touches like a hint of sweet chili. The coffee, consistently noted by visitors, rewards those looking for a grounded, well-made flat white or a refreshing shake served in a nod to classic presentation.
What sets Blackheath Deli apart is not just the food or drink but the sense of connection it nurtures. It’s the kind of spot where a slower order might remind you to look up and smile, where space feels made for the everyday joy of sharing a meal or a moment with another. For those who wander in seeking both comfort and a touch of discovery, this deli quietly delivers.

The soup that we got was delicious and the cakes! Would have loved a sourdough bread option as an upgrade. One of our orders was forgotten about so a little slow but they were quick once we'd asked again about it.

The best cheesecake I have ever had! And I recommend their vegan sandwich as well. Super friendly staff and considering how many customers there were, they served everyone fast and were efficient. Good music taste <3 Thank you, I wish I could come back one day! :)

Highly recommend! The best toasted sandwich I've ever had, delicious coffee, good music and friendly welcoming staff. Great little spot!

A great cafe with quality home cooked lunch options. I had the pulled pork sandwich and a chocolate milkshake with malt. And my shake came in the traditional container, which is so cool. See the pictures.

It was a cold morning and felt like a hot beverage. So went inside and found myself in a nice little joint. Wasn't particularly hungry but the menu looked good. So asked for a sandwich and a coffee. Solid food and solid hot beverage. And solid customer service. Thank you

There is a reason why many people visit. This is also one of the most visited places. The taste of coffee is not very good, but the atmosphere and food are very good. If you go to Blackhaas, it's worth stopping by at least once.
